The clash with the Munster game is unfortunate for Saturday week, April 27th.
That aside, is there a reason in the first place that the game is scheduled for a Saturday? The LoI is supposed to be about Friday night games more often that not. You work all week Monday to Friday and take in the game then on the Friday evening. Thankfully Sligo Rovers at the end of May will be a Friday evening kick-off. It'll be the first BIG Friday night match and not to be missed. Looking down through the season's fixtures though, there's a lot of Saturday evening games. Is there a reason for that preference?
Are all home cup games, e.g. the League Cup game v Waterford Utd, being played in Thomond Park?

Thomond Park is Limerick's set home pitch for every game as far as I know.

Ya I think you have to nominate a ground for the season end of story and can't change that.
I don't know precisely why they have switched most to a Saturday, its possible they think it will get more in the gates.
There isn't really much of a clash with the Munster game. I know I will be heading to the pub for the Munster game and should easily have half an hour, of not more, to stroll to Thomond Park for the Limerick match.

I imagine it will effect the attendance overall (plenty will stay in the pub I'd say), but hopefully not too much.
This game is over a week away, but we absolutely have to get three points. Shelbourne are atrocious this season, they're in a race to the bottom with UCD.

Ok that's great re. the cup games, wanted to be sure.
I wouldn't be totally writing Shels off, though they've yet to show signs they can turn things around. Disappointed I'll miss that game. If it was on the Friday I'd be there.

Will we get 2k in for this. The rugby clash is unfortunate but the momentum of two good wins should help. The confidence from today should help - need to be winning these kind of games. From what I've seen of Shels so far though, they're in a slightly false position, dont think they're as bad as their point tally suggests.

Much more suitable for away fans for a start but likely to boost home attendance also.

Admin Note: I hope you don't mind Legendz but I just modified the thread title as there is no point in starting up a new thread for this game.
Really looking forward to making a day of this on Saturday. I don't think I will be heading to Thomond Park for the Munster game but a few pints watching it in the pub then head to Thomond Park after that should make a nice day out of it.
I think even with the Munster match we might hit the 2,000 mark following on from the great finish against Bohs and a fine win yesterday.
If we hit the ground running I would say we could be looking at getting a good result on Saturday. I'm going to go for 2-0 with Curran and Axel grabbing the goals.

Philly is always worth a punt against us. I can't remember a game he hasn't scored against us in in recent times.
Results tonight have slighty gone our way. We have a chance to go 4 clear of Shamrock Rovers and 6 clear of Cork City tomorrow night.

Tonights results have been good to us I think, a win tomorrow coupled with, at most a draw for drogs away to sligo & we'll be up to 5th, with a nice gap opening up between us and the bottom 5. Its as easy as that:)
2-1 win for us I think, think they'll score, altho I always think we're likely to concede against anyone Axel & Curran to score Att:1800 hopefully more, but with the rugby on before it can't see it

Apparently President Higgins will be paying Thomond a visit. Can't say I like him that much, but its nice to see him going to games. Don't think any Limerick politician bothers at all, except for the final game against Wexford last season.

Truly disgusted for the first time this season. Some really bad football played tonight.
I kind of wish the sending off didn't happen, since Shels just packed out their defence for the rest of the game, shut the door. Had a pretty good view of the incident, Curran seemed to trip as he went for the ball and went into the guys back. Ref blew, I assumed it was Shels free, was checking my phone when suddenly everyone was shouting. Saw the red, and for a second I thought he'd sent Curran off. Can't understand why the red was shown, Ref had a much better view than I did. Did he swing an elbow? Will see on MNS.
Shels just had eight back for the rest of the game, two lines and they stuck to their task really well. Wasn't until the second half that we really tested their keeper from that header, but we really let Shels off light considering the situation. Some poor crosses throughout, and a real hesitance to shoot in good positions or even just play the ball forward. It seemed like lofted balls from just inside our half directed towards Curran or Gaffney were causing Shels some problems, but that pretty much ceased in the second half.
Shels were so much better in the second half, I would not have been one bit surprised if they had won the game. They won so many corners, so many frees in a dangerous area, and there were some really tense moments towards the end. Maybe 11 on 11 the game would have been more open and we could have done better, but it was hard to see it.
Ryan was solid, but by the end every time he was kicking the ball out he couldn't find a Limerick player. Defence was jittery at times, but had little to do for much of the game save for clearing headers. Midfield was iffy. O'Leary couldn't do much, Gamble was really wasteful (that "shot" after being set up by Gaffney, wtf). Galbriath found lots of space and kept calling for the ball, but did no better with it when he got it than anyone else. It was when he finally started trying to beat players and head to the touchline that he got really dangerous and I wish he had done it better. Certainly think he had been pushed for his "simulation" yellow, but maybe MNS will clear it up. Not sure why he was give a MOTM award, he really didn't have that big of an impact.
Curran runs and runs, took the ball down well and probably did the most of anybody in trying to make opportunities in the final third. But he was dead on his feet by the end, and spent a bit too much time on the ground for my liking. Gaffney isn't match fit, I wouldn't expect him to be, and he still made himself a bit of a threat, but some of his crosses were truly dire.
I know the subs bench is a bit light, but I really think Browne should have come on much sooner. He won a few balls in the air when he did come on, made himself useful. I really don't agree with bringing people on in the 91st minute, I don't think Judge even touched the ball. Was one of the Limerick coaches sent to the stands near the end?
On the support, I would agree that booing is a bit much, especially with the situation we are in. I haven't seen a crowd that disappointed since losing to Waterford at home last year. Some really ****ed off fans, and I don't just mean the more recent crowd either. I think performances like this are the sort to drive prospective fans away more than results like the Pats or Shams home game. That being said, I actually thought the support, from the terraces at least, was top notch for most of the game, some of the lads were in fine voice, more than at other home games this season, but certainly a lot were getting really frustrated by the end. Important to remember, with nearly a third of the season gone, I think we're in a better position than we could have hoped for at the start of the season.
I'm not sure what the President made of it all anyway. POS looked delighted leading him out, but a little sour towards the end

Agree with most of it, performance was abject, worst i've seen in a while, even with some of the sh#t with Scully the last few years. Everything out from the back was pedestrian, no quick balls to anyone, nothing was done at speed tonight to try take advantage of the extra man. Other than that it was long balls to absolutely. Gamble was poor, yep bringing Judge on when he did, for what? F#ckin stupid sh#t. Only been to home games & we have performed worse with each game.

I think towards the end of the first half they were being a bit quicker, especially with deadballs, but the rest of the game they were certainly taking their time with everything. You have to credit Shels for a lot of that though, its hard to pick someone out when he you have 9 defenders in your path.
