It looks like for the first time in nearly 20 years Limerick will have a game televised.
Saturday 9th March:

As bluewhitearmy has mentioned it is in the star that this game might be moved to Sunday now.

Will ruin the buzz of the first game to have it on at 5 on a Sunday imo.

Do ye think having the game on tv will increase, have no affect or decrease the attendance?

Do ye think having the game on tv will increase, have no affect or decrease the attendance? I genuinely believe it will shave off 700-1000 from the attendance. There would have been a lot of people from Mayorstone, Caherdavin, Woodview & Thomondgate who would have went along to the game on friday or even Saturday, but they are out now, as the game clashes with the Pool Spurs game, also if it was on firday or Saturday it would have been something to do before hitting town for pints but that crowd is out too. Still think Cork will bring a big crowd(I hope) and there will be all the usual people who've been upto Jackman over the last few years, but I think a lot of the very casual people may just give it a miss if they support pool or spurs...or are just more interested in the EPL than their own domestic league

There will be a nice chunk taken out of it alright but I don't think Liverpool vs Spurs will actually have a huge affect.
There will be quiet a few though that might decide to watch the Limerick match on telly and see what we are about before going spending money at a game.
If advertised and hyped up right though there could be plenty of event junkies making their way to the game.
I was at Shannon games a few years ago, didn't miss a single match one season. The crowds were in around the 300 mark for every home game. Shannon made the AIL final in Thomond Park and around 4,000 came out for that game. It's amazon how crowds can jump from very small to very big.
Even ourselves last year, we averaged about 600 at most games and 1,400 turned up for the match against Wexford last day of the season. Most people out for the occasion as much as anything else.

I'm not overly sure about this one, to be honest. I reckon the away allocation won't be as affected, because it allows more time for families to pop down, given it's the weekend and all that. People are always looking for something to do on a Sunday, but the bottom line is; if this game is marketed properly, the attendance will be very decent.
