Limerick broke 1000 at several points last season. But this is not an attendance thread and we're widely off topic.
Wexford badly need to pick up some points at Salthill this weekend, they haven't even scored a goal yet. Interested to see how Waterford get on against Mervue, they were such a stumbling black for them last season.

Everything I've posted is true. Whether you like it or not. We're not perfect, we had money men in the past, though they had no clue about football and did more harm than good. My point is that UCD are where they deserve to be, and if Waterford, Cobh, Limerick etc think they should be ahead of them then they should do that on the pitch, as Limerick did last season. Yeah we spent a massive two years in the first divison and we got ourselves out with no help from any one else. UCD got themselves up without any massive amounts of money. Limerick got up at last, but it took 19 years, and various owners. So we have never had crowds over 1000 even though we did twice last season? Not very true is it? I agree about earning it on the pitch. I wasnt commenting on how long we were down i was commenting that ye are only back in the premier the season before we got up ourselves. And since we are talking about on the pitch stuff if points had gone by what had happened on the pitch the season ye got up we would have been in the play offs ahead of Monaghan. The season ye got up ye spent big money too. Enough to beat megabucks Limerick to at least 3 players.

They surely will get something from Salthill though, if not it could be a long depressing season for the youths. For some reason i dont think Waterford will challenge Harps and Longford at all this season. Something about their manager makes me think he is clueless (Yes i know they beat us 4 times).

I think it's already clear how much they miss Maguire. He was just that little bit of awesome that got them badly needed goals.

I think too the fear that people had of playing against him really helped Waterford last season he made teams nervous before eh had done anything. Gary Dempsey a big loss too imo.

You might have hit it once or twice, but you didn't average it. Not in decades. I'm talking in averages. So we have never had crowds over 1000 even though we did twice last season? I'm talking in averages. If we spent big money, then it came out of our own pockets. My pocket, my dad and brothers pockets, my friends pockets. We are living well within our means. Our player and staff salaries come to something like 45% of our income.

Limerick are back in the premier, things are going well but nobody's getting carried away because we know our history. Do yourself a favour there and add up how many reincarnations/owners/homes/insolvenices/liquidations that Cork senior football has had in the last few "decades" as you put it. And then keep the answer to yourself and stop embarrassing yourself like a good man.

Waterford imploded tonight. Absolutely walked on by Mervue, who have three straight wins for the first time...ever? Meanwhile Harps beat Longford.
It would be sort of crazy if Finn Harps and Mervue were the leading contenders in this years FD.

Fair play to Mervue though, they are doing very well. I can't see them sustaining it but its great to see how far they have come since joining the league.
